Sonadezi exceeds 2021 targets

The year 2021 ended with a high note for Sonadezi when the Company was recognized and praised by Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Vo Tan Duc for its positive growth and contributions.

At a meeting for review of 2021 business performance and assignment of targets for 2022 held by Sonadezi on January 7, 2022, Mr. Vo Tan Duc – Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, representative of the State-owned capital at Sonadezi acknowledged Sonadezi’s efforts and praised the Corporation for successfully completing business tasks, actively contributing to and supporting local Covid control efforts.

Growth amid Covid

“In 2021, the prolonged Covid outbreak greatly affected the business of Sonadezi as well as the whole Dong Nai province in general. However, Sonadezi and its subsidiaries have completed or even exceeded multiple targets. The total revenue in 2021 exceeded the target by 8.83%; profit after tax 16.59%;ROE by 16.38%; contributions to the State budget by 91.43%. The Company also preserved the workforce during the pandemic, ensuring stable jobs and livelihood for over 3,200 employees”, Mr. Vo Tan Duc said this is a commendable result, especially in the context of the rampaging Covid.

Looking back over the previous year, Mrs. Do Thi Thu Hang – Sonadezi’s Chairwoman of the Board of Directors said: “Despite our psychological preparations and solutions for the worst situations, during the Covid-19 storm there was a time when it seemed impossible, to achieve the 2012 targets, especially when vaccines were yet to be available. However, during the pandemic, the whole Sonadezi system made even greater efforts and stayed united to overcome challenges and achieve growth .

According to a report by CEO Tran Thanh Hai at the meeting, efforts to overcome difficulties, flexibly adapt and promptly provide appropriate business solutions, in 2021 Sonadezi overachieved the assigned targets. The Corporation’s consolidated results feature of an estimated revenue of VND 5,191 billion, an estimated profit after tax of VND 1,180 billion, an estimated payment of VND 1,066 billion to the State budget, and an estimated ROE of 15.98%. All of these indicators show YY growth and exceeded the 2021 targets.

In 2021, the Sonadezi system has 09 out of 16 companies fulfilling and exceeding the revenue and profit after tax targets. Five of these entities exceeded profit after tax target by more than 10%. Subsidiaries such as Dong Nai Port (PDN), Sonadezi Service Joint Stock Company (SDV), and Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company (SZC) exceeded the revenue target by 5 to 7%. In terms of profit, Sonadezi An Binh Joint Stock Company (SZA) exceeded targets by 76%, SZC by 54%, Sonadezi Long Thanh Joint Stock Company by 12% and Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company (DNW) by nearly 50%.

Sonadezi also updated on some events of the Corporation in 2021. Notably, the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) approved the registration of nearly 55 million shares of Sonadezi Giang Dien Joint Stock Company (stock ticker SZG) to be for trading on UPCoM. Following this, the SZG stock was officially traded starting December 27, 2021. Up to now, out of the 17 subsidiaries of Sonadezi, 6 entities including D2D, SZL, PDN, SZC, SZB, and SDN) have listed shares on HOSE and HNX; 5 entities including SZE, DNW, DND, SZG, and SDV and the Parent Company (SNZ) have shares traded on UPCoM.

Nearly VND 32 billion to support local Covid control efforts

Mr. Tran Thanh Hai said during Covid, Sonadezi and its subsidiaries continued to promote social responsibility with a total implementation budget of VND 28.5 billion in 2021.

In 2020 and 2021 alone, Sonadezi donated to Covid control efforts nearly VND 32 billion including VND 16 billion to purchase medical equipment and vaccines; nearly VND 16 billion to support frontline forces, people in Covid-struck areas and workers, provide online learning equipment for poor students, and so on.

Sonadezi presented Dong Nai General Hospital with 02 high-class ventilators to support Covid control efforts

In addition, Sonadezi continued to maintain the financial support program for poor patients with a total cost of VND 3.5 billion so far. According to a report of Dong Nai General Hospital, the institution that jointly implement the program with Sonadezi, after 4 years of implementation, the program has covered costs of medical examination and treatment for 339 patients in a timely manner.

Revenue target of over VND 5,500 billion in 2022

Addressing the conference, leaders of Dong Nai province suggested Sonadezi continue to strive, leverage resources, develop many new projects which closely linked to the province’s socio-economic development orientation, especially projects in the airport urban area, logistics services, industrial parks and social housing projects. Sonadezi needs to have a strategy to apply new technologies in production and management to improve efficiency and develop sustainably in tandem with environmental protection and social responsibility.

According to Mrs. Do Thi Thu Hang, in 2022, in addition to satisfactorily perform the assigned production and business tasks, the Sonadezi system will continue to research and develop new projects and will be extremely prudential in each decision to ensure safe development. Along with that, Sonadezi’s biggest goal is to develop internal resources on 4 pillars: ensure human resources for the development of the system; continue to promote digital transformation; adopt flexible thinking and operation; continue to promote the synergy among the member entities and solidarity in the system to overcome new challenges and upheavals as well as to create greater values and develop sustainably.

Mrs. Do Thi Thu Hang emphasized: “More than ever, following Covid we see more clearly that the potential of a business is not only about capital, revenue, profit … but, more importantly, also about the team standing shoulder to shoulder. In 2022, Sonadezi’s number one priority is to ensure human resources in terms of both quantity and quality to meet the Company’s operations and development. As a part of this, training is an important goal. Both the leadership team and their staff will learn more, be better prepared, especially in terms of management, and be updated with the latest knowledge and the most effective ways of working.

Regarding Sonadezi’s goal of digital transformation, Mrs. Do Thi Thu Hang said, digital transformation is intended to master data and digitize operation and business processes to increase room for development, optimize business operations, enable member entities to consult investment online, work remotely, perform contactless transactions such as cooperation signing, signing of e-contracts, etc. Therefore, no matter what field it operates in, each entity in the Sonadezi systems needs to be well versed in digital tools. The digital transformation journey at each entity, no matter where it may be, should not stop because the digital economy changing swiftly. One of Sonadezi’s upcoming goals is to make good use of “real estates” in cyberspace. These are the technology platforms that help Sonadezi better serve customers, increase efficiency in governance, management, operation and enhance adaptability in a new condition induced by Covid.

In 2022, Sonadezi sets a target consolidated revenue of VND 5,516 billion, a consolidated profit after tax of VND 1,067 billion, a contribution of VND 572 billion to the State budget, and a ROE of 14.16%.
