On October 30, 2023, Sonadezi Chau Duc Joint Stock Company organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the affordable housing project at Sonadezi Huu Phuoc Residential Area in Suoi Nghe Commune, Chau Duc District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.
The event was attended by Mr. Bui Chi Thanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; representatives from departments, boards, sectors, localities, and leaders of Sonadezi Corporation.

Sonadezi Huu Phuoc Residential Area is part of the Chau Duc Urban Area, a component of the Chau Duc Urban Industrial Zone and Golf Course project managed by Sonadezi Chau Duc JSC. The residential area covers 40.5 ha, of which 48,531 m2 is allocated for affordable housing (AH), 27.3% of the residential project’s land fund.
With a total construction floor area of 97,062 m2, the Sonadezi Huu Phuoc Affordable Housing Project comprises 1,213 units and is divided into two investment phases.
Commencing construction on October 30, 2023, Phase 1 covers a land area of 11,677 m2 and includes three 5-story AH blocks, a 2-story motorcycle parking garage, and a 1-story community center. With a total construction area of 4,358 m2 and a floor area of 17,735 m2, this phase consists of 210 units, with each unit ranging from 25 to 68 m2, to meet the diverse needs of customers.
Phase 1 has a total investment of approximately VND 174 billion, and is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2024.
Phase 2 covers a land area of 36,854 m2 and a total construction floor area of 79,327 m2, providing 1,003 units for approximately 4,070 residents.
Affordable Housing is a component project within the Chau Duc Urban Area. Therefore, residents of the AH will enjoy the environment and lifestyle values of a multi-functional, multi-amenity urban area, including shopping centers, schools, hospitals, and medical stations.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, remarked, “The implementation of the AH component of the Chau Duc Urban Industrial Zone and Golf Course project is a key milestone, demonstrating Sonadezi Chau Duc’s commitments and responsibilities. In the face the current challenges in the real estate sector and the economy, specifically rising material prices and labor costs, Sonadezi Chau Duc has proactively and adaptively devised investment collaboration plans to expedite the project efficiently.”
Mr. Vinh urged Sonadezi Chau Duc to focus available resources on the project to ensure that the implementation produces the expected results and meets technical standards, especially in terms of fire prevention. He also emphasized the importance of affordability, timely delivery, and high-quality products for low-income individuals. Once operational, the project’s activities must comply with legal regulations.
Mr. Vinh also expected continuous support from other stakeholders for the project, as well as for affordable housing occupants with regard to administrative procedures.

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, CEO of Sonadezi Corporation, shared that Sonadezi Huu Phuoc Affordable Housing of Sonadezi Chau Duc JSC, one of the 16 business units of the Sonadezi system, is a prioritized project in 2023 and part of the Sonadezi’s investment plan for AH. Besides Huu Phuoc Affordable Housing, Sonadezi Corporation is also implementing other affordable housing projects, with a total investment of over VND 2,000 billion.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, CEO of Sonadezi Chau Duc JSC, emphasized that the project aims to increase the availability of AH in the province and offers high-quality housing options for the workers of enterprises in industrial parks. Sonadezi Chau Duc commmits to prioritizing resources for the AH project with a focus on quality, safety, and timely completion. Once operational, the company will oversee and manage sales, leasing, and leasing-purchase activities in compliance with regulations.

According to the People’s Committee, there are 38,000 non-local workers in provincial industrial parks out of a total of nearly 76,000, with housing demand from 4,600 of them. However, the province has only recently built nine AH projects totaling 6,1 ha and 1,551 units, falling short of meeting actual demand.
With an expected expansion to 19 operational industrial parks by 2030, the province will face a housing shortage of around 15,000 workers. Also, tens of thousands of more eligible individuals are on the waiting list, in addition to over 72,000 low-income individuals.
By 2030, the People’s Committee intends to have finished a minimum of 30,000 AH units. At least two developments will be initiated in 2023, with the Sonadezi Huu Phuoc Affordable Housing project being among them.
