“We are one team – SONADEZI”
The Sonadezi Sports Fest 2020 attracted 50 teams for the marathon race and tug of war competition, representing subsidiaries and the alliance of the Sonadezi’s Office and Sonadezi Binh Thuan.
However, as soon as the competition started, there was no longer the boundary between the teams, with all mingled into one, watching and cheering their competing colleagues. With little care given to which company they were representing, all contest venues resounded with cheers and applause when one reached the finish line or a certain team won. The sports fest, in that moment, existed only one team – Sonadezi.
The Sonadezi Sports Fest 2020 has a far-reaching impact, partly due to its meaningful structure of contests. The relay race is imitating Sonadezi’s 30-year development journey that is made possible with contributions and support of generations of leaders and employees. In this journey, each individual will cover his/her specified portion of the entire course and then hand over the “sticks” to the next generation. Sticks here means faith, tradition and dedication. After handover, a predecessor would not retire from his race but walk along and observe follow-up actions of his next generations. Sonadezi has had 30 years of so much cohesion and dedication!
The marathon race with different categories, including 1km, 1.5km and 2km man race and 0.5km, 1km and 1.5km woman race, had 21 teams in total. This form of competition requires endurance, tactics that correspond to the running categories and determination to pace up on time. That is also how Sonadezi has grown in the past 30 years by persistently expanding on the basis of a strategic vision and creating breakthroughs.
The tug of war competition had 14 teams participating, all showing high determination before its start. This form of competition requires joint efforts, solidarity and collective strength. That also emulates Sonadezi’s journey that has been built up and nurtured by the hearts and minds, solidarity and dedication of all employees over generations.
The tug of war contest started when it was getting hot and the temperature was quite high, but the teams brought their best with 200% of their energy. This is also the most engaging and exciting part of the competition.
In addition to physical strength, all competitions require determination, cohesion, mental strength to overcome all pressures, and teamwork. These are also key personal characteristics of Sonadezi employees over generations.
The Sonadezi Sports Fest 2020 ended with beautiful memories, lots of fun and strong team cohesion. Back to business following its conclusion, Sonadezi employees would gather again in the Sports Fest in 2021 and many more years to come to spread positive energy and earn success for the single team called Sonadezi.
