At the Conference, after listening to Sonadezi Corporation’s report on operating results, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung – Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee delivered a congratulatory remark and recognized Sonadezi’s efforts and achievements in 2017: “On behalf of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, I warmly congratulate the results achieved in 2017 by Sonadezi Corporation and its subsidiaries. Although there were many difficulties and obstacles during the year, the results proved that Sonadezi is developing relatively comprehensively in various fields, focusing on socially significant projects and carrying out charitable activities effectively. The fact that employees enjoy stable and improved living conditions with an average income of over VND 11 million/person/month and the year-end bonus of 1 – 3 months’ salary is praiseworthy.”

Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung had specific instructions for Sonadezi Corporation: “In 2018, I hope that Sonadezi Corporation will keep its pace of development and achieve even greater results. The attention should be paid to divestment and restructuring for them to be implemented in a timely and effective manner. Besides, Sonadezi Corporation needs to centralize its resources to accelerate the progress of urgent projects related to the water supply system, transport infrastructure, environment and Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Zone relocation, thereby, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.”

At the Conference, Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang – Chairwoman of Sonadezi Corporation first thanks employees’ dedication and the companion of the local authorities: “2017 is a year of difficulties and challenges, Sonadezi’s employees have made great efforts to achieve great results. Sonadezi Corporation acknowledges the contributions of all employees and the efforts we have made together. Sonadezi also thanks to the support of the Provincial Party Committee and regulatory agencies for Sonadezi in 2017, thereby helping Sonadezi promptly solve difficulties and obstacles encountered in business activities.”

2017 results prove that Sonadezi Corporation and its subsidiaries have made efforts to continue to achieve great performance in all 4 areas: industrial and civil real estate; construction and materials trading; port, yard, and environment services provision; clean water supply. By the end of 2017, Sonadezi Corporation and most of its subsidiaries completed and exceeded the annual plan.

The Corporation achieved VND 3,818 billion in revenue, reaching 109% of the plan; VND 547 billion VND in profit after tax, reaching 113% of the plan; 13.3% in return on equity, reaching 161% of the plan; VND 713 billion in budget contribution, reaching 248.5% of the plan.

The Parent Company – Sonadezi Corporation achieved VND 399.6 billion in revenue, reaching 105% of the plan; VND 260 billion in profit after tax, reaching 228% of the plan; 6.9% in return on equity, reaching 228% of the plan; VND 354 billion in return on equity, reaching 708% of the plan.

At the Conference on reviewing results achieved in 2017 and setting up the plans in 2018, Mr. Phan Dinh Tham – CEO of Sonadezi Corporation said, besides the efforts to implement the business plan, 2017 marked an improvement in the scale and quality of Sonadezi’s CSR activities. Sonadezi Corporation and its subsidiaries retained over VND 12.7 billion for charitable activities, for example, building Thuan Truong – Bau Ham 2 road in Song Thao commune, Trang Bom District; supporting charitable and social funds, constructing 21 houses under the “Hearts of Gold” Program. After 10 years of “Hearts of Gold” program implementation, Sonadezi and its subsidiaries built and awarded 242 houses with a total budget of more than VND 06 billion.

Besides, Sonadezi Corporation and its subsidiaries continued to invest in plenty of socially significant projects, for example, completing Quang Trung waste treatment complex and Vinh Tan residential waste treatment complex; putting Vinh Cuu water supply system with capacity of 15,000 m3 per day into operation (this project aims to supply clean water to rural areas according to the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee); speeding up the progress of Nhon Trach water supply system (phase 2) and Thien Tan water supply system (phase 2) construction.

In terms of setting up the 2018 plans to the Parent Company and each subsidiary, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors Do Thi Thu Hang emphasized: “I hope that the Parent Company and its subsidiaries will continue the business operations according to the strategies developed by the Corporation. The key activities that we must focus on are restructuring and reallocating resources appropriately; optimize investment efficiency; improving management quality and investing heavily in human capital development, applying advanced technologies in the management and business activities; attaching importance to clean energy projects. In 2018, Sonadezi will build a common brand for the whole Sonadezi system for the purpose of creating a consistent brand identity in the entire Corporation, thereby increasing the brand value for each subsidiary and the whole system. The Parent Company will operate in the form of a holding company, meaning the Parent Company only focuses on making financial investments, controlling and improving the efficiency of invested capital use in subsidiaries, and bringing new projects to the Corporation.”

Also as a part of the Conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung and Sonadezi Corporation’s Board of Directors presented the awards and emulation titles to the individuals and teams who performed excellently in 2017.

In terms of 2018 targets, Sonadezi Corporation aims to continue its impressive development with basic targets such as consolidated revenue of about VND 3,935 billion, profit after tax of VND 660 billion, 16% return on equity and state budget contribution of about VND 321 billion. In order to achieve these above targets, Mr. Nguyen Long Bon – Deputy CEO of Sonadezi Corporation, on behalf of the Party’s Committee, Sonadezi’s Board of Directors and Board of Management launched 2018 emulation movement and emulation commitment.
