On July 13 and 14, the Trade Union of Industrial Park Development Corporation (Sonadezi Corporation) held the 3rd Congress of 2023-2028 tenure with the theme “Innovation – Democracy – Solidarity – Development”.

Attendants at the Congress included leaders of the Provincial Labor Confederation, the management teams of Sonadezi Corporation and its subsidiaries, representatives of trade unions in Emulation Cluster 3 and 150 official delegates representing more than 3,400 trade union members of the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation.

The Trade Union Congress of Sonadezi Corporation comprehensively assessed the situation and results of the implementation of the Resolution of the Second Congress, and determined the goals, directions and tasks of the Corporation’s Trade Union for the next 5 years.

The 3rd Congress of Sonadezi Corporation Trade Union, 2023-2028 tenure

The Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation currently manages 23 subsidiary trade unions with a total number of members being 3,428 out of 3,461 employees, accounting for 99.05%.

In the last tenure, amid the world economy’s complicated and unpredictable developments, the negative impacts of Covid-19 and a series of fluctuations in the financial and real estate markets, increasing fuel and raw material prices, and especially the difficulties and problems related to legal procedures, the business activities of Sonadezi Corporation and its member companies have been hit hard. With dynamism and creativity, the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation has constantly innovated its activities in tandem with taking care of the material and spiritual life of employees as well as up-skilling them.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation, said in the past 5 years, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Board of Management of the Corporation and its subsidiaries as well as the efforts of union members and employees, the business situation of the Sonadezi system has been maintained and developed, thereby ensuring jobs and stable income for union members and employees. In the years from 2018 to 2022, the Corporation’s employees saw their income stay the same or increase year after year.

During the tenure, the Trade Union has introduced 289 elite members to the Party committees at various levels for consideration. Out of these, 223 members have been admitted to the Party by the superior Party Committee. In addition, the patriotic emulation movement has gradually been renewed, attracting participation by a large number of officials, union members and workers. In the Program “01 million initiatives, strive to overcome difficulties, be creative and determined to defeat Covid-19″, the whole Corporation registered to implement 18 initiatives, benefiting over VND 14 billion and saving a lot of time and effort in performing professional tasks.

Also in the last tenure, the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation focused on promoting social and charity activities, contributing to ensuring social security. Some remarkable activities included a program to participate in stabilizing sales, provide food for the people of Bien Hoa City during the outbreak of Covid-19, support local people and frontlines in Covid prevention and control.

Addressing the congress, Mr. Huynh Phuoc Sang – Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Labor Confederation recognized and praised the results achieved by the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation. He proposed the Executive Committee of Trade Union of the Corporation of the 3rd term, 2023-2028 tenure develop solutions to overcome the limitations in the last term and focus on satisfactorily performing a number of key tasks.

Mr. Huynh Phuoc Sang emphasized: “Sonadezi Corporation is a major business the province. As such, the task of developing production and business, stabilizing jobs, and increasing income for workers is very important. Therefore, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation need to continue promoting the achieved results, mobilizing employees’ active participation in production, and improving the operational efficiency of each unit in the Corporation. At the same time, importance is to be attached to caring for and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees through the implementation of the Regulations on democracy at the grassroots level. The trade union is to act á a real bridge between employers and employees and contributes to the further development of Sonadezi”.

Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Secretary of the Party Committee, CEO of Sonadezi Corporation said: “The achievements of the Corporation’s Trade Union in the 2018-2023 term have made important contributions to the completion of the Corporation’s annual business plan. In order to successfully implement the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress of Sonadezi Corporation for the term 2023-2028, it is proposed that “The Trade Union Executive Committee continue to build a strong trade union organization; renovate contents and modes of operation to meet requirements in the period of accelerated industrialization, modernization, and international integration. Strengthen inspection and grasp the situation of life, employment, implementation of regimes and policies for employees. At the same time, pay attention to, discover and introduce elite trade unionists to the Party organization for training and consideration for admission to the Party.

In the new term, the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation sets a number of targets to strive for, such as: every year, 85% of grassroots trade unions are assessed and classified as having successfully completed their tasks or outperforming; over 95% of grassroots trade unions organize annual employee conferences; More than 95% of subsidiary trade unions effectively implement emulation movements such as “Outstanding Employees”, “Creative Employees”, “Building a business up to cultural standards” and strive to have at least 40 elite union members introduced every year to Party committees for consideration of admission to the Party.

Delegates vote to elect a new Executive Committee

The Congress elected an Executive Board of the Sonadezi’s Trade Union for the 3rd term (2023 – 2028) with 15 members. The Congress also elected 7 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 11th Dong Nai Provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 term.

At the first meeting, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation, the 3rd term (2023-2028) elected a Standing Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairman, the Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Inspection Committee. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hanh was re-elected as Chairwoman, and Mr. Vo Huynh Trung Hung and Mr. Huynh Tan Loc held the position of Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Sonadezi Corporation, 3rd term (2023-2028).
