Competitive Advantages:
Go Dau B port is used primarily by the industrial zones located in Dong Nai city and surrounding areas. The port can also become the destination of the companies from the southern dynamic economic region, according to their business strategies. Go Dau B port of Dong Nai Port JSC is fully equipped to become the main port of portgroup (group 5), to handle hoods for vessels of up to 30,000 DWT and large volume of international long-haul maritime traffic from Southeast and Northeast Asia.
However, the majority of goods needed by aforementioned industrial zones has to be handled at the ports of HCM city and from here be transported to Dong Nai by road. This leads to an increase in traffic pressures on the highways in the triangle Ho Chi Minh City. HCM, Dong Nai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau. There are no promising solutions that can put an end to the congestion that occurs frequently in this triangle
Dong Nai province is currently home to 31 industrial zones and numerous factories, therefore the “goods supply” for Dong Nai port system is relatively abundant. Besides, the development of agriculture – forestry – fishery sectors in the province leads to the substantial increase in import/export demand for raw materials and equipment used in production and construction activities. Especially, Go Dau port will handle the cargo needed for the Tan Rai bauxite-aluminum complex project (Lam Dong) with two-way volume of about 1,335,000 tons.
Go Dau port’s location is relatively favorable, besides the fact that it belongs to Go Dau Industrial Zone, the port also lies in close proximity to other industrial zones placed in Dong Nai province. In terms of road transport, the port is adjacent to Highway 51 and in the foreseeable future to Bien Hoa – Vung Tau railroad. In terms of waterways transport, the port is located near to Thi Vai river, therefore, it is convenient for the vessels to enter and leave the port. Therefore, Go Dau port is expected to become the hub for freight transport, act as main port for port group (group 5) and create linkages between coastal localities across the country and between Dong Nai province with the Mekong Delta provinces
