On May 17, Sonadezi Industrial Park Development Corporation handed over to Dong Nai General Hospital 02 high-class ventilators worth VND 1.5 billion to support its COVID-19 responses
Donated by Sonadezi, these are two Puritan Bennett 840 units manufactured by Covidien (affiliated to Medtronic, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of medical equipment today). These are high-end ventilators, specifically designed for emergency care and resuscitation of all patients, and widely used in nearly all central and provincial hospitals. The Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators have proven highly effective in the treatment of H5N1, H1N1, Sars and Covid-19 patients.

This model has an exhalation heater that heats the expiratory filter to 60-90 degrees and kills and avoids viruses spreading into the environment, together with bacteria filter efficiency of 99.97% to prevent cross-infection to other patients and medical workers…
02 high-end ventilators donated by Sonadezi
At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai – Sonadezi’s CEO said: “In the context of the pandemic, Sonadezi is also much affected, but we believe it is time to carry out our corporate social responsibility, joining hands to ease hardships faced by those affected. Therefore, Sonadezi decided to donate ventilators to Dong Nai General Hospital to strengthen its equipment and capacity to respond to Covid-19. In coordination with Dong Nai General Hospital, today Sonadezi officially hands over 02 Covidien’s Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators worth VND 1.5 billion in total, donated by Sonadezi and its subsidiaries.

Mr. Hai added that, in early February 2021, to support Dong Nai province and its health sector in local responses to Covid-19, Sonadezi donated a real-time PCR testing system worth VND 5 billion which is now managed by Dong Nai Center for Disease Control. “Hopefully, given current COVID-19 developments, the PCR testing system and ventilators donated by us will be of much help and contribute to local effective prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic” added Hai.
Present at the ceremony, Grade 2 Specialist Physician Ngo Duc Tuan – Director of Dong Nai General Hospital thanked Sonadezi for its continued support over the years. Sonadezi has extended its assistance to responses to the Covid-19 pandemic that has caused difficulties and challenges to the community and placed high pressure on the health sector, including Dong Nai General Hospital as the frontline hospital in the diagnosis and treatment of serious COVID-19 patients in the province. “The 02 ventilators donated by Sonadezi are quite valuable, given that the Hospital is in short of equipment for COVID-19 prevention, including ventilators and testing kits. We hope that Sonadezi will continue its support to the hospital in the months to come, especially to our measures against the pandemic , ” said Mr. Ngo Duc Tuan.

Also at the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh – Deputy Director of Dong Nai Department of Health acknowledged Sonadezi’s support to local health sector, especially in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic. As noted by Mr. Binh, the real-time PCR testing system donated by Sonadezi is quite helpful as the main system used in SARS-CoV-2 testing, supporting local efforts in actively responding to the pandemic. “The health sector, as well as front line medical workers in the fight against the pandemic, feel uplifted by supports by those around them, including companies like Sonadezi. It is requested that Dong Nai General Hospital receive, install and use donated ventilators for its purposes and effectively. We hope that Sonadezi will provide further support to the health sector and that Sonadezi’s meaningful donations will trigger involvement of many more businesses in this fight ”.

According to Sonadezi, in addition to ventilators and the PCR system, in 2020, Sonadezi and its subsidiaries contributed more than VND 1 billion for Covid-19 prevention and control in Dong Nai province. Sonadezi maintains its pro-poor medical expense assistance program (launched in 2018), having so far released VND 3 billion to benefit more than 275 poor patients .
Sonadezi and its subsidiaries have donated more than VND 10.5 billion for public health care in the province, including donation of machinery and medical equipment worth VND 7.5 billion for COVID-19 responses.
The Sonadezi leader committed to further and active supports to Dong Nai province and its health sector in disease prevention and public health care. Sonadezi is expected to sponsor Dong Nai General Hospital 2,000 COVID-19 antigen test kits as soon as possible.
