On the afternoon of 30 December, the mission of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee led by Vice Chairman Vo Tan Duc had a working session with Sonadezi on its business performance in 2022.
In her overview assessment report for 2022, Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang – Sonadezi’s BOD Chairwoman reported that, after two years into the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2022, Sonadezi and its customers and partners further faced challenges arising from both domestic and global issues. Impacts were felt by most of Sonadezi’s subsidiaries, especially its property developers and construction – building materials companies.

With concerted efforts and flexible responses to market fluctuations, Sonadezi basically completed its business plan, even outperforming in a number of indicators. Specifically, consolidated revenue was VND 5,628 billion in 2022 was estimated to reach VND 5,628 billion (or 102.02% of the annual target) while it incurred VND 666 billion of tax payables (or 116.46% of the annual target).
Many of Sonadezi’s subsidiaries ended the year by successfully completing their annual work plan. Among others, Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company, Sonadezi Long Thanh Joint Stock Company, Dong Nai Port Joint Stock Company, Dong Nai Housing Trading Joint Stock Company, Sonadezi College of Technology and Management exceeded their annual revenue and profit after tax targets.
Regarding the divestment of state investment at the parent company – the Corporation, on November 29, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1479/QD-TTg on restructuring of state-owned and state-invested enterprises, between 2021 and 2025, under which the state will maintain its ownership of 99.54% in Sonadezi Corporation until 2025.
In 2022, Sonadezi Corporation devised its restructuring scheme for the period 2021-2025 and is currently waiting for instructions from Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee.

In addition to efforts in business operations, Sonadezi also placed its focus on digital transformation and human resource training and development. In 2022, Sonadezi implemented digital reporting at Sonadezi and its subsidiaries by launching its centralized database and Smart Management Reporting System, and employing AI-office software as guided by the Provincial Department of Information and Communications.
“In 2023, in addition to its initiatives, Sonadezi expects to receive continued support from the Provincial People’s Committee and line departments to overcome difficulties and enable us to successfully complete the business plan,” said Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang.
Addressing at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Vo Tan Duc noted that, despite huge difficulties in 2022, Dong Nai delivered high economic growth as one of the bright spots in the national recovery landscape, generating budget revenue far ahead of planned to have it ranked 6th nationally in this regard. For this, Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee highly praised Sonadezi’s contribution.

“In 2022, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, Sonadezi completed and exceeded its plan in terms of revenue and tax payment, and actively implemented social security policies to protect and improve employee income. In addition, Sonadezi’s industrial park investment in Ba Ria – Vung Tau and Binh Thuan have earned trust and praise of local governments,” said Vice Chairman Vo Tan Duc.
Vice Chairman Vo Tan Duc requested that Sonadezi, building on its achievements, manage to successfully complete its tasks for 2023. Sonadezi should, based on its brand reputation, explore other projects in the province and expand its investment opportunities and business lines by leveraging local development advantages, given that the Long Thanh International Airport and expressway projects will be soon completed in the period 2023-2025.
Mr. Vo Tan Duc also requested another working session in early 2023 between leaders of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, line departments and Sonadezi to address business barriers faced by Sonadezi and its subsidiaries.
