On the afternoon of December 31, the mission of Dong Nai People’s Committee led by Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung visited and had a discussion with Sonadezi and a number of its subsidiaries on revenue, tax payment to the State budget, direct tax payment – expenditure, budget closing and a number of related activities on the last day of 2020.

As reported by Sonadezi, despite strong impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on business operations of Sonadezi and its subsidiaries, in 2020, Sonadezi’s consolidated performance basically fulfilled and exceeded the annual targets. Specifically, it generated more than VND 4,766 billion in total revenues (or 103.99% of the annual target), over VND 1,054 billion in profit after tax (or 115.30% of the annual target) while its tax payable was estimated at VND 578,616 billion (or 125.42% of the annual target) and its return on equity was around 14.72% (or 111.88% of the annual target).

As noted by the leader of Sonadezi, despite numerous challenges in 2020, Sonadezi and all of its subsidiaries managed to provide job and income security to their employees. Also in 2020, Sonadezi actively participated in community and charity programs by donating more than VND 16.29 billion, including VND 7.25 billion by its subsidiaries.

Addressing at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung congratulated Sonadezi and its subsidiaries for their efforts to have completed and exceeded many of the annual targets. Sonadezi’s actual revenue in 2020 was 4% higher than budgeted while its profit after tax, return on equity and tax payable were respectively over 15%, nearly 12% and 25% higher than planned. This is an commendable performance, given that the Covid-19 pandemic has heavily affected Sonadezi’s operations, especially in attracting investment in industrial parks.

For 2021, as requested by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Sonadezi should leverage its resources to develop new projects closely in line with local socio-economic development plans. In addition, a focus should be on investment in social housing and development of a clean water supply network in the province in the near future, requiring Sonadezi to explore possibilities and support development of new projects in such areas. “Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee and its departments always stand by to support businesses overcoming their obstacles in a way that Sonadezi and its subsidiaries can perform effectively and make practical contributions to local socio-economic development”.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee shared his New Year greetings to Sonadezi and its subsidiaries, expecting that, building on past achievements, it will further grow more strongly in 2021 and the years that follows, backed by innovative investment and development strategies.
