Sonadezi awards scholarships and rewards outstanding academic performance to children who have been orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On July 31, 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee of Dinh Quan district coordinated with Sonadezi Corporation to organize a program aimed at visiting and providing gifts, scholarships, and rewarding outstanding academic performance, as well as providing care for children orphaned by the COVID-19 pandemic in the district with ongoing support from Sonadezi.

In this program, Sonadezi Corporation has presented 12 gifts and 3 scholarships to children who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance, with each award valued 1.5 – 3 million VND/part. The program is held on the threshold of the new academic year to encourage and motivate children to persist in their efforts and education throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. Concurrently, assist the children in covering tuition fees, purchasing uniforms, books, school supplies and necessities for the upcoming academic year.

Also in this program, Sonadezi presented gifts to two children who have recently turned 18 and graduated from high school, marking their farewell to the program before they enter the next stages of their lives.

The program aimed at assisting orphans who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Dinh Quan district has been collaboratively executed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dinh Quan district and Sonadezi Corporation since July 15, 2022.

In the past 2 years, with the collaborative efforts of Sonadezi’s management and its member companies, along with the coordination and assistance from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee of Dinh Quan district and various mass organizations, the program has been implemented in a timely manner, which has provided substantial support to 13 orphans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the district.

It may be considered that the collaboration among various agencies and departments, coupled with the dedication and involvement of children and their families, has truly made our support and sharing experiences more meaningful and worthwhile.”

Mr. Do Thanh Trung – Member of the District Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dinh Quan district said that in the past 2 years, Sonadezi Corporation has not only promptly provided material support for orphans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the district but has also extended significant spiritual support through various practical measures such as regularly organizing visits, understanding the living situation of the children, giving gifts on the Tet holiday and offering additional support to help them stabilize their lives, feel assured to study, and aspire for a better future. The valuable support of Sonadezi Corporation has contributed to the implementation of social security in the locality, building a new and improved countryside.

Also on this occasion, Sonadezi Corporation provided financial assistance in July 2024 to the children with an amount of 2.3 million VND for each child. Accumulated until June 2024, the Program has provided assistance to children amounting to over 841 million VND. Concurrently, the managers within the Sonadezi system have prepared funds to support the children in the forthcoming times.

The program to support orphans affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Dinh Quan district has been operational and sustained for a duration of 16 years, starting from January 1, 2022 to August 2037 with a total budget allocation exceeding VND 2.5 billion. Financial assistance will be provided to the children on a monthly basis from January 2022 until they attain the age of 18.

The leader of Sonadezi Corporation shared: “It is anticipated that, with the support of Sonadezi Corporation and the attention and companionship of the local government and community organizations, the children will always feel warm and more stable when they have a fulcrum in life, from which they will constantly learn, grow, and develop the strength needed to overcome difficulties and thrive”.
