Support to frontline workers and citizens under lockdown
With the committed donation amount of VND 2 billion, Sonadezi and its subsidiaries have transferred part of it to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of districts, cities and the Military Command of Dong Nai province for their earlier actions depending on local developments and for timely support to frontline workers and those under lockdown. In addition, Sonadezi allocated part of its finances to donate 6,300 boxes of Doriv 500ml drinking water to those involved in the fight against the pandemic.
About 6,300 boxes of Doriv drinking water were urgently delivered to frontline workers
According to Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dowaco, the manufacturer of Doriv drinking water), these boxes of drinking water have been delivered to those involved in the fight against the pandemic. With well organized coordination of relevant organizations, the heartfelt gifts from Sonadezi and its subsidiaries have been timely delivered to the frontline forces of the fight against the pandemic.
As noted by Dowaco, in addition to 6,300 boxes of Doriv water donated by Sonadezi, Dowaco also contributed another over 4,000 boxes of Doriv water to medical workers, armed officers, police and those stationed at COVID-19 checkpoints, lockdown and quarantine areas, COVID-19 treatment hospitals and field hospitals… in Dong Nai, which will be further implemented in the months to come.

With the 4th wave of COVID-19, its development is getting more complicated and unpredictable and likely to spread widely in the province. As of July 30, Dong Nai recorded nearly 4,000 cases positive to SARS-CoV-2. According to Dong Nai Department of Health, the number of Covid-19 infections is expected to grow in the coming days.
In this context, 8,000 health workers across the province are under more strain to deal with the virus. Joining them in this fight are those stationed at checkpoints, persistently performing their assigned tasks under extreme heat or torrential rain. There are also armed soldiers and youth union members who are both on duty at checkpoints and distributing food to those under lockdown… Despite a high risk of exposure, they are silently contributing, day and night, to the national fight to secure a future without COVID-19.
Following the adoption of the Prime Minister’s Directive 16 in the province (from July 9) with a large number of wards, communes and residential areas, with more than 400,000 people, under lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus, local people have strictly followed the regulations. In difficult times due to disruptions to working lives and income reduction/loss, we have seen mutual supports between them. A countless number of organizations and businesses have contributed to the local efforts in responding to the pandemic and supported local people, especially those living in cramped boarding houses, seasonal workers and own-account workers, etc.
As shared by a Sonadezi leader: To share the hardships and difficulties of frontline workers and those affected by the pandemic, Sonadezi wishes to contribute our part in coordination with Dong Nai Military Command and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of cities and districts in the province. They have a wide geographical coverage, fully understanding the status quo in each commune and residential group and currently working with frontline forces at full capacity to bring practical supports to local people. As small as it is, Sonadezi, above all, would like to send our thanks to the frontline workers and help reduce burden of local people under lockdown.
More than VND 15 billion donated to Covid-19 responses
According to Sonadezi, since the outbreak of Covid-19, Sonadezi and its subsidiaries have supported COVID19 responses in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Phu Yen and others. In Dong Nai alone, Sonadezi has delivered different supports worth more than VND 15 billion. Specifically, Sonadezi has donated VND 5 billion to the Dong Nai Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund to expedite the rollout of Covid-19 vaccines and soon move forward to a new normal.
