This result has just been announced by Sonadezi during a working session on the afternoon of December 31 with the delegation of Dong Nai People’s Committee led by Chairman Cao Tien Dung.
Reporting to the People’s Committee delegation, the management of Sonadezi said that Covid has caused enormous difficulties and challenges for Sonadezi’s operations in 2021, especially for the Company’s construction and building materials businesses. This is the year the Sonadezi system has made great efforts, flexibly responded and developed an adaptive strategy according to the actual evolution of the disease to overcome it.
Thanks to this, most of Sonadezi’s subsidiaries have fulfilled targets while ensuring safety for their human resources and performing multi-tasks including Covid control, organization of safe production, ensuring the smooth supply of essential services and products during social distancing such as water supply; waste collection, transportation and treatment; and port services. At the same time, Sonadezi together with the local government organized stalls to supply food, daily essentials and medical equipment for the frontliners.

In 2021, Sonadezi’s consolidated results recorded an estimated total revenue of VND 5,191 billion (reaching 108.83% of the annual target), an estimated profit after tax of VND 1,180 billion (reaching 116.59% of the annual target), an estimated contribution of VND 1,066 billion to the State budget (reaching 191.43% of the annual target), and an estimated return on equity of 15.98% (reaching 116.38% of the annual target).
Compared to the consolidated results in 2020, Sonadezi’s total revenue in 2021 increased by VND 425 billion, profit after tax by VND 126 billion, contribution to the state budget by VND 488 billion, return on equity by 1.26%, corresponding to the respective growth rates of 8.9%, 11.95%, 84.4%, and 8.55%.

In regards to investment in industrial parks (IPs), Sonadezi has attracted 22 projects including 10 FDI projects and 12 DDI projects with a total registered capital of 65.7 million USD and VND 1,529 billion. So far, Sonadezi’s industrial parks have accommodated 858 projects (including 614 FDI projects and 244 DDI projects) with a total registered capital of more than USD 10.47 billion and VND 20,257.5 billion respectively.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ho Duc Thanh – CEO of D2D proposed that the Provincial People’s Committee and departments, agencies and sectors continue to address difficulties and support businesses in implementing investment procedures.
Pleased with the results achieved by Sonadezi, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province Cao Tien Dung praised and acknowledged Sonadezi’s efforts and contributions to the province, especially during the extremely difficult Covid time. Sonadezi has made important contributions to Dong Nai’s post-Covid economic recovery and development. At the same time, Sonadezi has also been active in CSR activities and supported the province and many localities in Covid prevention and control with a total budget of nearly VND 26 billion in 2021.

In 2021, Dong Nai is one of the southern provinces suffering heavy economic losses due to the impact of Covid. Most sectors have been negatively impacted. However, thanks to recovery efforts, especially the efforts of the business community in the province, a number of areas have met and exceeded targets such as: export turnover of over USD 21.83 billion, exceeding the annual target by 16.16%; FDI investment in industrial parks of over 1.1 billion USD, an increase of over 1.5 times compared to 2020; domestic investment capital reaching more than VND 2.4 trillion, 20% higher than the annual target; and State budget revenue of nearly VND 62.4 trillion, up 12% against 2020 and reaching 132% of the planned estimate.
Chairman Cao Tien Dung and the delegation of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee recognized that Sonadezi’s achievements have contributed to creating bright spots in the province’s economic picture in 2021, especially in terms of State budget contributions. At the same time, Sonadezi has striven to attract investment in industrial parks and develop port services for imports and exports.

In 2022, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung suggested Sonadezi promote its strengths and seize investment opportunities in the province to develop new projects, focus on divestment in accordance with the law and the approved schedule. The Provincial People’s Committee together with departments and agencies always accompany, support and address difficulties for Sonadezi so that the Corporation can continue to operate effectively, contributing to the fulfillment of the province’s targets for 2022.
