Sonadezi Corporation held the Conference on reviewing 2019 and setting up the 2020 plans on January 10. The Conference welcomed the participation of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung – Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, representative of state capital share in Sonadezi, Mr. Le Sy Lam – Deputy Chief of Office in Provincial People’s Committee, leaders of Sonadezi and its subsidiaries as well as more than 3.800 employees of Sonadezi.

According to Mr. Phan Dinh Tham – CEO of Sonadezi Corporation, in 2019, Sonadezi and its subsidiaries and affiliates all operated effectively, exceeding the targets set in the plan by 10% – 50%. Several subsidiaries exceeded the planned profit after tax by 20% – 100%.

Based on the consolidated results, the Corporation achieved VND 4.863 billion in revenue, reaching 109.67% of the plan; about VND 959.3 billion in profit after tax, reaching 115.6% of the plan; about VND 632 billion in state contribution, reaching 150.23% of the plan; about 14.14% in return on equity, reaching 115.9% of the plan.

Regarding investment projects, Sonadezi attracted 42 FDI and DDI projects with a total registered capital of more than USD 329 million and nearly VND 1.010 billion, respectively. Up to date, 10 industrial zones of Sonadezi are home to total 803 FDI and DDI projects (583 FDI projects and 220 DDI projects) with a total registered capital of over USD 10 billion and VND 16.546 billion, respectively.

Besides, effectiveness and business outcomes of other sectors including civil real estate, construction and materials trading, services (including ports, industrial zone services, environment services, etc.); water supply are also improved.

The Corporation achieved about VND 527 billion in revenue, reaching 109.7% of the plan; about VND 368 billion in profit after tax, reaching 121.87% of the plan; about VND 68.4 billion in state contribution, reaching 140.87% of the plan; about 9.69% in return on equity, reaching 121.73% of the plan.

Besides business activities, in 2019 Sonadezi Corporation basically completed the brand identity building process which aimed to create a common brand for the entire Sonadezi system. New website was officially launched on January 10, 2020.

At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung – Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged Sonadezi Corporation’s achievements in 2019. He highly appreciated the growth of Sonadezi and its subsidiaries, especially Sonadezi’s contribution to the state budget that exceeded 50% of the plan. He also recognized Sonadezi’s efforts to ensure a living wage for more than 3800 employees and spend nearly VND 8 billion on charitable programs.

Vice Chairman Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung also emphasized “2020 is the last year of the 5-year socio-economic development plan (2016-2020). I require Sonadezi Corporation to expend more efforts to successfully complete the assigned tasks and contribute to the success of the whole term. Sonadezi needs to strive to have a dividend yield of 9% or more, achieve objectives set in the business plan, deploy new projects and fulfill the obligations to its subsidiaries. Besides, Sonadezi is expected to strengthen the relationship between its subsidiaries, proactively put forward proposals and recommendations to Provincial People’s Committee and regulators in order to quickly sort out problems, focus on human capital building and continue its charitable programs.”

In 2020, Sonadezi Corporation expects to achieve revenue of about VND 4.584 billion, profit after tax of about VND 915 billion, contribute to the state budget of about VND 461 billion and reach a return on equity of 13.16%.

Regarding the development orientation of Sonadezi in 2020, Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang – Chairwoman of Sonadezi Corporation said “The year of 2020 marks the 30-year journey of the development of Sonadezi Corporation. Taking this into account, in 2020, Sonadezi will continue to make every endeavour to create corporate values and build strong brand reputation. Sonadezi will focus on improving the quality of products and services, optimizing the values that we add to customers and developing corporate social responsibility. At the same time, Sonadezi aims to promote its cultural identity in the new development stage.”

“Besides ensuring safety and efficiency in operating existing projects, Sonadezi also assesses new projects with vigilance. Especially, Sonadezi will focus on cultivating legal knowledge and enhacing awareness of legal compliance in all functional areas of business.”, Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang emphasized.

According to the plan, in 2020, Sonadezi will deploy Tan Duc Industrial Zone (300 hectares) in Tan Duc commune, Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province with a total investment of VND 1.200 billion. Sonadezi also intends to expand its operating area through promoting investment in a number of industrial zone – urban area – service complex projects and new urban areas projects in several areas in the Southwest region, Central and Northern macro-regions. Therefore, Sonadezi is able to make use of the resources accumulated over the years and create a precursor to the development of the Corporation in the forthcoming period.

At the Conference, Sonadezi Corporation awarded the representatives of Sonadezi capital at Dong Nai Port JSC, No.2 Industrial and Urban Development JSC and Sonadezi Long Thanh JSC for their remarkable achievements in 2019.
